A Filipina nurse from Camiling Tarlac is inspiring a lot of netizens with her gardening and ‘raketera’ story. On her social media accounts, she introduces herself as a “Tinderang Pinay at Raketerang Nurse Sa America.”
Apparently, the nurse, Mia Delos Reyes-Uy, who is based in Marylang, USA, is earning around P50,000 per ‘talipapa‘ day because of the plants in her garden.
On her Facebook page she shares, “Proud ako na anak ako ng magsasaka at hardinera. At dahil dun ang dami kong natutunan. Kaya isa rin akong hardinera at soon isa na ring magsasaka.” (You may click the image below to see their talipapa video.)
Aside from being a nurse, she manages their backyard and grows several kinds of fruits and vegetables in their garden. She manages her time well such that they also have ‘talipapa’ days wherein they sell their harvest.
During her free time, she still manages to multitask! While watching her favorite K-dramas she gets busy at the same time; working on the seeds to be prepared for planting. Wow!
She posted recently, “Yun bang gusto mong maraming magawa kapag day off mo pero itong si K-Drama laging nang aabala. Samahan n’yo po akong magtanggal ng mga buto ng saluyot, okra, sigarilyas at iba pa.”
Who says she can’t relax and enjoy? This is proof! 🙂
On her FB reel she shared, “K-Drama may be one of the most dangerous addictions that a person can form in a lifetime. You may just have to maximize your efficiency when this is the case. Multitasking is real!”
True to her tagline ‘raketerang nurse’, she also shared that they are also into refurbishing and selling of wrought iron furniture! Yes, they look for used iron furniture sets and refurbish those into amazing restorations. You may visit her videos on YouTube where she documents their activities. You’re sure to get some inspiration and ideas from her channel, Mia Uy.
In a feature story via GMA News, she shared some bits of her past; narrating that their father was their influence with regards to being ‘masipag.’ She said their father used to urge them to be productive at all times.
There’s a lot of opportunities, she added, and she doesn’t waste those. Time management is all up to you, she said. ‘”Yung pagbabalanse ng oras nasa sa iyo yan eh. Kung talagang gusto mo at passion mo ‘yung ginagawa mo, kaya mo talaga.”
She is trying her best to save so she could afford to have a farm-resort in the Philippines. A near future dream!
