A Korean restaurant gave a shoutout to a group of diners as an appreciation of their initiative to clean their table before leaving.
“Shout out po sa grupong ito. Salamat po sa pag-iwan ng malinis at maayos na lamesa,” Tondoeno UNLI SamgyupWings said in a Facebook post.
They also said that while it may seem like a simple gesture to some, it means a lot to their crew. “Malaking tulong po ito sa ating mga crew… God bless po.”
In an interview with Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital, they said that this is the first time that they encountered customers who practiced CLAYGO — “clean as you go.”
“For a year po kasi in doing unlimited eat all you can business, it was the first time po that we encountered na may nagligpit po ng kanilang pinagkainan in a group of customers,” they told PSND.
“Sa panahon po ngayon specially po dito sa Pilipinas, wala po kasi halos gumagawa ng ganyan. We are on peak season and working in a food industry is one of the hardest and challenging job during this season.”
Netizens lauded the customers and said that this gesture should be the norm.
“Ganito dapat palagi kapag kumakain sa labas, mapa-karenderya man, fastfood, o restaurants. It’s courtesy. The fact that you have the liberty and financial capacity to eat at their establishment shows that you are most probably in a better situation financially than the service crew. The best you can do for them is make their jobs a little bit easier. Kindness is never wrong,” one netizen said.
A netizen who works at the food industry shared that it feels good to see customers leaving their table clean.
“Oo sa panahon ngayon mahirap ang sitwasyon lalo na sa pera kaya iilan na lang yung nagbibigay ng tip. Pero ang pag-iwan sa pinagkainan nang maayos at malinis ay napakalaking tulong na rin sa mga trabahador ng kahit anong kainan. Resto man o simpleng karinderya, mamahalin man o mura,” he shared.
Inded, let’s this be a reminder that it is so easy to do. We just have to be a little kinder.
