SHS student who received 60 awards on graduation day now a #medbio freshman

A senior high school graduate from Sto. Niño Academy in Bulacan showed “the biggest flex” any student could get! She received at least 60 awards on her graduation day.

What’s next? She’s now experiencing college life at the Universty of Sto. Tomas in Sampaloc, Manila.

She continues to share videos on TikTok of her life as a freshman who’s taking up Medbio; Bachelor of Science in Biology, major in Medical Biology.

Bachelor of Science in Biology is a four-year program that provides its students the opportunity to integrate, interpret, and translate biological phenomena through scientific observations and environmental observations, and use this information to make meaningful decisions, with emphasis on its applications in the environment, medical field, and the industry.

Meckia Mari Villanueva, who’s now 19, earned praise and admiration from many netizens after she went viral in June-July of this year because of the fruits of her hard work in high school.

A few months ago, she shared on TikTok snippets of her graduation day, where she earned an overwhelming 60 awards. The video has gone viral with more than 6.4 million views since posting.

Meckia graduated from Sto. Nino Academy from Bocaue, Bulacan. She was a STEM student and was their batch valedictorian; receiving 24 medals, 30 ribbons, and 60 certificates on their graduation day.

A lot of netizens were inspired by Meckia’s success and said that her “flex” was worth flexing. She has nearly 79K followers on TikTok and she received requests to share some tips especially on how to study effectively.

To help other students, Meckia  posted a video sharing some of her study habits. Her first advice was to do advance reading as it is super effective whether it’s for online class or face-to-face classes.

Her next advice was to take precise notes and make sure you write down all the important details of the topic. She further disclosed that It’s also best to take note of keywords that will help remind your topic. She said, “Hindi kasi sapat na naririnig mo lang, dapat nakikita at ginagawa mo rin.”

She then proceeded to share that a student should make a list of the things you want and need to accomplish at the end of the day.

She pointed out that “Balanse dapat ang mga kailangan at gusto mong gawin.” This tip will help you in managing  your time efficiently. And another important thing — Meckia emphasized the importance of taking a rest when needed. Only you can discern when you need it.

She tells her followers, “At the end of the day, walang makakatulong sa iyo kung di ang sarili mo.”
