Support poured for a vendor in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu who was duped by a customer who paid a fake P1,000 bill.
Facebook page JnE FamVlog shared that the vendor gave his customer a P900 change; not knowing that the money paid to him was fake.
The vlogger also called the attention of Mayor Junard Chan who vowed to go after the culprit who took advantage of the vendor.
“Ayaw kabalaka Tay, buhaton nako ang tanan nga masikop tong nangilad nimo. Sakit gyud gihapon sa akong dughan nga nakaya nila ang maong binuhatan. [Don’t worry, Tay. I will do everything to find the person who did this. It still breaks my heart thinking that they did this to you],” Mayor Junard Chan said.
Meanwhile, Cong. Cindi Chan’s staff personally visited the vendor and gave him cash and groceries.
She said they also found out that he is not totally blind, but is already having a hard time seeing. They already scheduled him for a check up with an ophthalmologist at the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital.
Meanwhile, netizens have expressed their frustration; saying that other people should learn to fend for their needs without taking advantage of other people’s situation.
“Grabe naman kung sino gumawa niyan kay Kuya. Di lumaban nang patas. May kapansanan yung tao, nagsisikap sa buhay. Ganito pa ang ginawa. May awa ang Diyos, Kuya. Maraming tutulong sa’yo,” one commented.
“Nagtatrabaho nang marangal si Tatay para may pantustos siya sa mga pangangailangan niya kahit na may kapansanan siya. Tapos gaganiyanin n’yo pa? Asan puso n’yo? Bakit ba may mga ganiyang tao? Nakakaiyak!” another netizen said.
Meanwhile, JnE FamVlog has shared the vendor’s GCash number in case netizens would like to extend help. The vlogger also warned that there are already people trying to scam the family.
“Desperado na talaga mga scammer ngayon pati ba naman konting laman ng GCash ni Tatay gusto pang kunin pls naman tigilan nyo na. Konti lang naman laman GCash niya, maawa kayo. Itulong n’yo na lang yun. Dinamay pa si Sir Raffy Tulfo,” they said in an update.
