A thoughtful son honors the sacrifices of his father by sharing his graduation dress or toga during his special event.
On TikTok, Chris Lapidez shared a heartwarming video of how he posed next to his father on his graduation day. But what made the moment extra memorable was that it was his father who was wearing his graduation dress!
It was a gesture of appreciation as he gave honor to his father. According to Chris, his father went through a lot of sacrifices so he could finish his education and was very much deserving of the honor.
He captioned the video with, “My parents are one of the reasons why I didn’t give up.”
Chris added that long before he graduated, he had already made a promise to himself to let his father wear his toga. He wanted his father to feel that his achievement was a product of his sacrifices and hard work.
He wrote, “Sabi ko talaga sa sarili ko before nung nag aaral pa ‘ko, once na makagraduate ako ipapasuot ko talaga kay papa yung toga ko kasi nakikita ko yung mga sacrifices niya para sakin and especially, I want him to feel that all of his sacrifices are worth it.”
Because his father was unable to graduate and wear a toga, Chris said the gesture was all the more heartwarming. “Highschool yung natapos ng father ko kaya pina-experience ko sa kanya magsuot ng toga sa PICC,” he said.
The video became viral online as many netizens were also moved by the moment. Many people praised Chris for being a thoughtful son and remarked on how fortunate his parents are to have him.
A netizen wrote, “Saludo ako sayo tol! napaka swerte ng magulang mo at ganun din sila sayo.”
Many were also inspired by the gesture and promised to do the same when their graduation day comes.
A netizen said, “Congrats tol, soon magagawa ko din yan sa tatay ko!!”
Meanwhile, his father has commented in a video post; appreciating his son’s gesture. Camilo Lapidez shared, “Maraming salamat anak sobrang saya ko pakiramdam koy aabot ako ng 100 years. sa mundo Proud na proud ako sayo.To GOD be the glory.”
