Having a dedicated and thoughtful teacher is every student’s dream! Right?

Well, there’s a teacher from Torrijos, Marinduque who has been earning praises from netizens after her heartwarming story was shared on social media by friends which later made it to the popular program, Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, of the Kapuso Network.

Apparently, elementary teacher Hermelyn Pimentel Quinto, aside from performing her teaching duties, had painstakingly devoted  some precious time making portraits of her students at the Sibuyao Elementary School.

She had taken photos of them at the start of the schoolyear so she would have copies for her sketches. She then gave the portraits of her students as her graduation gift for them to remember her in the years to come.

Teacher Hermelyn also disclosed it had been her project for five years; adding that she had already done almost 200 portraits. The most challenging was when she had two advisory sections in 2018-19 and she had to finish 58 portraits before the end of the schoolyear.

She purchased the materials she used from her own salary, she said, and has even upgraded into using charcoal powder for her artworks to produce better results.

In a Facebook post shared on July 3, she expressed being so thankful for the God-given talent. She also thanked the Lord for being given very supportive parents and a sibling. She also appreciates having a responsible husband and a loving daughter from whom she gets inspiration.

“Maraming-maraming salamat po Lord sa pinahiram Mong talento sa akin! Maraming-maraming salamat po dahil binigyan ninyo ako ng napakasupportive na ama, nanay, at kapatid. Tapos biniyayaan Mo pa po ako ng responsableng asawa at mapagmahal na anak na akin ring pinaghuhugutan ng inspirasyon.”
The toplister of 2016 board exams for teachers also thanked the Deped- Marinduque, especially for the trust in allowing her to illustrate various storybooks for their students.
” Salamat din po sa Deped- Marinduque. Lalong-lalo na sa pagtitiwala po ninyo sa akin sa pagguhit ng iba’t-ibang storybooks para sa ating mga mag-aaral.”
She also didn’t forget to thank her friends and colleagues as well as her clients in commissioned work.

How to best describe this educator who has a lot of love in her heart?
