A father couldn’t help but be emotional after discovering that his daughters staged a surprise audition for him on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
On YouTube, the video of the heartwarming audition showed two girls walking up on stage with their grandmother. They introduced themselves as Cally and Savannah, aged 4 and 3. They were with their “Nanny,” their father’s mother.
BGT judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and David Walliams were all smitten with the young girls’ cuteness on stage. When they were asked what they wanted to share on stage, the adorable girls said they were there to surprise their dad. The video then shows their dad, Nick Edwards, sitting in the audience.
The confused dad thought he was there to simply watch the audition with his family and had no idea they had arranged a surprise audition for him.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
The girls’ nanny explained their surprise and said, “Well, Nick doesn’t know anything about it and we’re surprising him because we want him to come and sing. Because he sings a lovely song for the girls.”
They added that they had entered Nick in the competition knowing well that he would not have done it on his own. Nick couldn’t help but be surprised and said, “Unbelievable!”
Nick had less than an hour to gather his thoughts and practice Ernie Halter’s song Daddy’s Little Girl before singing in front of the judges.
His performance was a blast, and the video of it went viral with over 6.8M views on Youtube since posting.
Many viewers praised Nick’s performance and his adorable daughters as well. One netizen wrote, “I can see how much both his daughters adored him by watching him singing on the stage quietly.”
Another wrote, “The look on his little girls’ faces while their dad was singing was priceless. I had never heard this song before, but it will definitely be one that I remember along with this performance!
