Identical twin sisters who married identical twin brothers in Virginia have left the internet baffled after claiming their sons are not only cousins but much more than that.
Twin sisters Brittany and Briana Deane met twin brothers Josh and Jeremy Salyers during a festival for twins in 2017. Six months later, the brothers proposed to their respective girlfriends and then had a joint wedding in August 2018.
The couples actually are sharing the same home in Virginia as they look forward to expanding their families.
Josh and Brittany announced the arrival of their first son, Jett Salyers, in January 2021.
“Brittany did wonderfully in delivery. I am so proud of them and excited to be Jett’s dad!” Josh wrote on Instagram.
This was followed by a similar announcement by Jeremy in April of the same year. His wife Briana, also gave birth to their own son, Jax Salyers.
Now what was interesting, if not confusing, is their latest Instagram post claiming that Jett and Jax Salyers are more than just blood cousins.
“Our children will not only be cousins, but full genetic siblings and quaternary multiples! Can’t wait to meet them and for them to meet each other!” they wrote on a shared Instagram account.
“Jett and Jax: Cousins, Genetic Brothers, and Quaternary Twins!” read another one of their posts.
Baffled, some netizens offered explanation in the comment section as to how was this possible.
“Their mothers and fathers are identical twins. Both sets of parents then had kids. Same exact DNA created both,” wrote one Instagram user.
“If this family took an ancestry DNA Test it would show these babies as siblings, not cousins!” said another.
But some are also not convinced, with one explaining, “They’re NOT brother’s! They’re just cousins! The only way they could be brothers and cousins is if both of the sister’s share the same men. People need to stop making stuff.”
Others, however, said it doesn’t matter whether Jett and Jax are twins or cousins, but they are certainly cute and adorable babies who could pass off as brothers anytime. Indeed!
