It may be an unusual design for an engagement ring, but ‘love is pain’, according to Machine Gun Kelly.
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker) just recently got engaged to ‘Transformers’ star Megan Fox following a whirlwind romance that started back in 2020.
In a joint interview on Vogue, the couple was asked to show Megan’s engagement ring for which the rapper-actor commissioned Stephen Webster to co-create the design.
“It’s a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment. It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine. And the diamond was directly from Stephen,” Machine Gun Kelly described his fiancee’s ring.
It featured their birthstones – emerald for Megan and diamond for Baker – “set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”
The concept, said Baker, is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. But when it’s together, its held in place by a magnet.
“So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…” Baker narrated.
“Love is pain!” he added.
The Hollywood nymphet was previously married to Brian Austin Green before they broke off in 2019. The former couple has three sons – Noah, Bodhi, and Journey.
Meanwhile, Megan and Baker met in 2020 on the set of indie film ‘Midnight In The Switchgrass’. In May that year, they were spotted together in Calabasas.
But it was only in June 2020 when the couple confirmed they were officially dating.
They finally announced their engagement in January this year.
